About

Join us at at Marshalls Sports Ground Gainsborough

Laybos fest is an event that will be held annually on the last weekend in May. We first started this event in May 2020 unfortunately due to the pandemic we had to do this virally over social media, in 2022 we were able to bring the event to Gainsborough for the first time raising a substantial amount which was split between local mental health charities.

Our event is to raise not just money but awareness for those suffering with mental health. In May 2019 we lost our dear Leighton to suicide. Mental illness has no boundaries and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or race. Leighton was the life and soul of any party, his face lit up the room, his fancy dress choices, questionable, but incredible!

So in his memory we want to bring Gainsborough together, to break the stigma on mental health!

laybo's legacy

Despite its prevalence, mental illness and suicide can be difficult for people to discuss. In fact, talking about it helps spread awareness in those suffering, it helps families learn about warning signs of suicide and the appropriate interventions. Which is why we invite mental health charities to join us at Laybos fest.

While the topic of suicide can be scary and unsettling, the better we’re able to discuss it as a community, the sooner we’ll be able to help.

We couldn’t save Leighton but we hope to help save someone else’s loved one.
